Be the seed
I would be willing to bet we’ve all heard this message at one point or another: “trust the process” or “have patience.” It’s my most disliked message. Why? Personally, it’s not helpful. Like, ok, I’ll sit and wait I guess.
Well, today I received a message from Spirit that helped me to see this in a different light. No matter what journey each of us are on, we must take steps forward.
Four or five months ago my partner in love and life began a project. He combined his love for gardening with 3D printing and set out to create a hydroponic tower. He designed and printed the tower we now have. Researching, printing, failing, finding successes. He made changes along the way and, while he never expressed frustration, always had the approach of “what needs to change to make this work?” He put the pieces together and then began planting all kinds of things. “We’ll see if it works,” he’d often say, “and if it doesn’t, we learned.” How profound when you think about it.
Each day he checked the water levels, nutrients, ph, and looked at the soil waiting for his little sprouts. Each seed grows at a different rate: beans, cucumbers, basil, tomatoes (and a few more I can’t remember at the moment). Slowly the sprouts came. But only because of his consistent attention as he worked to figure out how to make them grow. We are currently at the stage where the cucumbers have beautiful yellow flowers. BUT, they are wilting and not sprouting veggies.
So back to the reason for my writing this: “have patience, trust the process.” He did not build the tower, plant the seeds, and walk away waiting for it to just happen. He took tiny steps each day giving this labor of love his attention. We can be patient. We can trust that the Universe and the Divine are conspiring in our favor. But we also need to participate. We must make sure we are each doing our part to get there too. Each one of us is a seed planted. Our Divine support team is always there, shifting and arranging and making things happen that we don’t yet see. They are adjusting the ph, providing water, nutrients, and light. When an environment isn’t working, we may experience a shift of scenery. All the while, each seed (us!) is absorbing or resisting what we are given and using that as fuel to grow into the beautiful expressions that we are. We have a choice on what we accept and what we don’t. In doing so, we are making small seemingly invisible steps towards flourishing.
So, when you are told to trust the process, it’s an opportunity to assess things. Take an inventory of your own steps. Are they consistent? Are they focused? Are we resisting or accepting? I am grateful for this perspective, a much needed outer perspective that has allowed me to refine my actions, but never stop them.
“I am open to Divine nourishment and direction as I co-create my life now and in the future.”
May you achieve your full potential and share your gifts with this world.
